A Family Story

I knew early on in our marriage that it would not be possible to get pregnant because of medicine I was on, so we pursued adoption. In the beginning I think we were wide-eyed and full of hope. As the weeks turned into years we lost some of that wonder. We had so many chances that fell through and a failed placement that we began to lose hope. When we got the call that a baby had been born and it was a chance, I personally didn't believe it. We later got the call to come to the hospital and it started to feel a little more real. We met Sophia's birthparents and it just clicked. We stayed with her in the hospital and we have been with her ever since.

Our second child was more of a surprise than we could have imagined. We put in paperwork so that they might not be six years apart and Parianna's adoption started taking shape a few months later. She was older (almost a year at the time) and we went through a little ride with her. Her birthmom had to come to terms with placing for adoption.

We have been a family of four since last December and our girls are either joined at the hip or running from each other in true sister fashion. We love every busy crazy day! They light up a room!

Many thanks to Meggan B., Kindermusik parent and mommy to Sophia and Parianna, for sharing your family's story!
