Friendship

Friends are such an important part of our life experience.  Whether you're the sort of person who needs just one really super close friend, or the type who keeps up with hundreds, I bet you can even now remember your own childhood friends and how those people shaped the person you were becoming through those years of trial, error, adventure, and growth.  There's such comfort in knowing that we're not alone on our journey, personal and unique as that journey is to each of us.  Human beings are social creatures.  We are meant to be in community with one another, and even now as an adult, your friends likely continue to play a major role in your health and happiness.  They are those people we lean on, laugh with, vent to, who challenge us, and just generally experience life alongside us.

One of the beautiful things about Kindermusik is that it opens up a safe, loving, and social space for both caregiver and child every week.  We're often a first stop for families who have just moved to town.  And that makes so much sense, doesn't it?  They're looking for friends!  Knowing that our classes give families this opportunity warms my heart so dearly and it's one of the most rewarding things about being a Kindermusik business owner and educator.  Over my years of teaching I have so cherished seeing the myriad of friendships formed in our classes: moms who wouldn't have otherwise met one another becoming close, children who are learning to see outside of their own experience conveying compassion and empathy.

Friendship is such a special and important part of the human experience that we set aside a week every single semester to celebrate it.  Next week, (February 28 - March 3) is our Bring-A-Friend Week.  If you are currently-enrolled with us, please consider inviting a friend, neighbor, or playgroup friend to join you and your child for class this week.  Heck, invite that aquantaince you keep running into at the library that you've really been wanting to get to know.  This is the perfect opportunity to take the next step.  And if you're not currently-enrolled, consider yourself a friend of our program!  We'd love to have you join us!  Visit our website to view our class schedule and email or call us today at 515.221.2948 to schedule your visit with us.  And the cherry on top?  Every visiting friend gets a free gift from us next week.  Yep.  Just a little somethin' to say that we're glad you came to sing, dance, and play with us.  That's what friends are for.
